WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT |
AAAE Airport Wildlife Manager's Course
September 21-23, 2009
This three-day course is tailored for those individuals who are responsible for creating or implementing an airport's Wildlife Hazard Management Plan. Intended as the follow-on course for the Airport Wildlife Management Techniques Course, the Manager's Course focuses on the challenges faced by a prospective airport wildlife program manager and enhances the skill sets needed to create a successful wildlife hazard management program. The course was developed using scenario based learning models and incorporates a team-building approach which challenges the students to meet the learning objectives of the program in a real world environment. This course provides the students with the ability to work collaboratively with their peers to understand complex problems and develop creative, alternative solutions at an operational airport facing real wildlife management challenges. Using an existing airport wildlife hazard assessment, students, working with their teams, will be required to conduct a site survey on the airport, analyze survey data and make recommendations important to that assessment.
